The Unlikely Best Friends Summary
In this chapter, we follow the journey of Gajaraj, a lonely elephant who resides in a royal stable. Despite having all the comforts provided by the king and his mahout, Gajaraj feels sad because he has no friends to play with. One evening, a stray dog enters the stable, and Gajaraj, noticing the dog's exhaustion and hunger, shares his food. This act of kindness marks the beginning of a beautiful friendship between the elephant and the dog. The next day, both animals enjoy each other's company, splashing water during their bath and having fun together. However, the situation changes when the dog's owner, a farmer, finds him. He takes the dog away, and both Gajaraj and the dog feel heartbroken over the separation. Gajaraj refuses to eat, and the mahout becomes worried about his health. Meanwhile, the dog at the farmer's home also goes without food, missing his friend terribly. Observing the dog's sadness, the farmer decides to let him return to Gajaraj. The dog quickly runs back to the stable, excited to reunite with his friend. Upon their joyful meeting, the mahout and the farmer witness the strong bond they share. They realize that true friendship transcends any differences, as these two unlikely friends find happiness together again. The chapter teaches us that friendship can come from unexpected places and highlights the emotional connection that exists between different species.
