Guidelines have been published for the Supplementary Examination for Class X and XII for the year 2025 concerning the applications for answer book copies, mark verification and re-evaluation.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has made the announcement regarding the application of scanned copies of the answer books for class X and class XII students for the supplementary exams of 2025. This includes the mark verification and re-evaluation requests. This article will share the breakdown of the steps, deadlines, and fees to help parents and students follow the sequence to simplify the process.
For students to apply for answer book copies, they need to first apply for a photocopy to check for discrepancies if they consider the check marks provided to seem to be in excess of or deficient to the marks they should have received based on the responses they have provided in the answer books. Key details:
For Class 12, apply online from 6 to 7 August 2025, with a payment of ₹700 per subject.
For Class 10, apply online 8 to 9 August, 2025 at a fee of ₹500 per subject.
The scanned copies will be in the student’s CBSE login account with the personal details of the examiners hidden.
After reviewing their answer sheets, students can choose from:
Verification of Marks (₹500 per answer book): Looks for mistakes in totalling or unmarked questions.
Re-Evaluation (₹100 per question): Disputes the scoring of particular theory questions.
Deadlines for students:
Class 12: August 13–14, 2025
Class 10: August 18–19, 2025
Applications are online only (credit/debit card/net banking). Any requests made offline will be rejected.
Marks are subject to increase or decrease after re-evaluation. Original mark sheets must be submitted to the board in the case of revisions.
Processing fees are non-refundable. There is only one application per step per person.
Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE Controller of Examination, said: "Students must review their answer books thoroughly before applying for re-evaluation. The Board’s decision on re-evaluated markings will be absolute.”
This initiative supports students in identifying gaps in the evaluation process and ensures balance and fairness in results. Parents and students need to take action promptly because the timelines are very strict.
