CBSE has launched an online portal for CWSN students to apply for exam facilities and exemptions for the 2026 Board exams. Learn about the application process, key dates, and more.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially launched an online portal for schools to apply for exemptions and facilities for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) students appearing for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations. This new CWSN web portal is designed to streamline the process, ensuring that students with disabilities receive the necessary support during their examinations.
This initiative aligns with CBSE's commitment to providing equitable and accessible education, as per the provisions of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
This portal is specifically for schools affiliated with CBSE that have CWSN students registered for the Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations in 2026. The school must have already marked these candidates as CWSN and noted their specific disability in the List of Candidates (LOC) data.
The online portal will show schools a list of their CWSN students along with the facilities permissible for each disability category. Once the school selects the requested facilities, the details will be automatically included in the student's admit card, allowing examination centers to make the necessary arrangements.
The CWSN web portal is available for a limited time. Schools must complete the application process within the specified window.
Portal Open: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
Portal Closes: Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM
The application process is entirely online and must be handled by the school. Here is the workflow schools should follow:
Log In: Schools must log in to the Pariksha Sangam portal using their existing LOC user ID and password.
Access CWSN Details: After logging in, schools should navigate to the CWSN module and click on the "CWSN details" tab. Here, they can view the list of their CWSN students.
Select Facilities: For each student, the school must select the desired facilities by checking the box next to each option. Schools must also upload a supporting disability document in PDF format (maximum size 2MB). Once completed, click "save".
Review and Finalize: After selecting the facilities for all CWSN candidates, schools must click on the "Finalize CWSN Details" tab and accept the undertaking. This is a one-time finalization, so schools must be careful to select the correct options.
Check Status: Schools can monitor the status of their applications under the "Finalized CWSN Data" tab. The status will show as "Under Process," "Approved," or "Rejected" after review by the Regional Officer.
This streamlined online process aims to ensure that no student with special needs faces inconvenience during their examinations. Previously, some schools and students were not fully aware of the available exemptions or the correct application procedure. This new portal is designed to address that by compiling all exemptions and concessions in one place.
Some of the facilities extended to CWSN students include extra time, a scribe or reader, a computer or laptop (without internet), and the use of a basic calculator
