An online portal for students with special needs to apply for exemptions and facilities for the 2026 CBSE Board examinations has been launched by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This new web portal is specifically designed for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) and is available to schools that are affiliated with CBSE. The portal can be accessed through the Pariksha Sangam portal
The portal is available alongside the List of Candidates (LOC) portal, which was mentioned in a notification on August 27, 2025. Schools need to use their login ID and password to access the CWSN module within the Pariksha Sangam portal. The portal will display a list of all candidates who have been marked as CWSN in the individual LOC data. It will also show the specific facilities each student is eligible for based on their disability.
Schools must adhere to the following schedule to submit details and required documents for CWSN students:
Start Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
End Date: Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM
It is crucial for schools to complete this process on time, as no requests will be entertained after the deadline or in offline mode. The schedule will not be extended, and no new CWSN candidates can be added once the window closes.
The CBSE has provided a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to help schools navigate the new CWSN management system. Here is a summary of the process schools must follow:
Log In: Schools must use their LOC User ID and password to log in to the portal.
Update CWSN Details: The CWSN module will show a list of all CWSN candidates. Schools must select the facilities the student wishes to avail and upload the required disability documents in PDF format (maximum size 2MB). This is a one-time option, so schools must be very careful when selecting facilities.
Finalize Data: Once all details and documents are uploaded and saved, schools must click on the "Finalize CWSN Details" tab and agree to the undertaking to finalize the data.
The selected facilities will be automatically included on the student's admit card. This helps examination centers make the necessary arrangements for candidates with special needs to ensure a smooth and convenient experience.
This initiative aims to improve awareness among schools and students about the various exemptions and concessions available to CWSN students as outlined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act - 2016. These facilities can include extra time, a scribe or reader, and the use of a basic calculator. The portal is an effort to centralize and streamline the application process, making it easier for schools to manage and for students to receive the support they need for their examinations
