CBSE urges affiliated schools to use NCERT's fifth e-magazine issue, "The Glorious Past and Heritage of India," to cultivate reading habits and enhance student skills.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a significant initiative to strengthen reading and writing proficiency among students. In an official communication dated October 13, 2025, the Board has requested all affiliated institutions to actively promote and utilize the NCERT monthly e-magazine, Sapnon ki Udaan.
This effort is designed to make reading a joyful and lifelong habit for students from an early age. The focus is on nurturing not just literacy skills, but also creativity, imagination, critical thinking, and vocabulary.
The circular, issued by CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta , specifically highlights the fifth edition of the e-magazine. This latest issue of Sapnon ki Udaan is titled "The Glorious Past and Heritage of India".
Sapnon ki Udaan is presented as a unique opportunity to inspire and educate young readers. By encouraging students to read the magazine regularly, CBSE and NCERT aim to:
Cultivate a lifelong habit of reading.
Enhance reading and writing proficiency.
Nurture essential skills like creativity, imagination, and critical thinking.
Improve student vocabulary.
The initiative promotes joyful and lifelong learning by integrating the magazine into existing school reading promotion activities.
