Attention Parents: A Crucial Update from CBSE on Student Registration and Data Submission

CBSE urges parents to ensure accurate student details to avoid future issues.

Parents of CBSE students in classes 9, 10, 11, and 12, this is a must-read. Learn about the new deadlines and data verification process for student registration and LOC submissions.

Attention Parents: A Crucial Update from CBSE on Student Registration and Data Submission

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a crucial circular addressed to parents regarding the accurate submission of student data and subjects for the 2025-26 academic year. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of examinations and preventing complications that can arise from incorrect information.

The circular, dated September 18, 2025, emphasizes the importance of correctly submitting personal details and subjects for students in

Class IX, X, XI, and XII. The CBSE has observed that a significant number of parents submit incorrect information during the registration and List of Candidates (LOC) process, leading to a need for corrections even after results are declared.

Key Submission and Verification Dates

The circular outlines the key dates for the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X and XII students and the registration of students for Classes IX and XI.

Schedule for List of Candidates (LOC) - Class X/XII

  • Without late fee: August 29, 2025 (Friday) to September 30, 2025 (Tuesday)

  • With late fee: October 3, 2025 (Friday) to October 11, 2025 (Saturday)

Schedule for Registration of Students - Class IX/XI

  • Without late fee: September 16, 2025 (Tuesday) to October 16, 2025 (Thursday)

  • With late fee: October 17, 2025 (Friday) to October 31, 2025 (Thursday)

The board has made it clear that no extensions will be granted for these deadlines, so parents are urged to support their schools in timely submissions.

Data Verification Process

To prevent future problems for students, CBSE has introduced a data verification period. After the registration and LOC submission deadlines, a data verification slip will be issued to students and parents. This is your chance to correct any errors in personal details like name, parent's name, or date of birth, as well as any subject corrections.

Schedule for Data Verification

  • LOC (Class X/XII): October 13, 2025 (Monday) to October 27, 2025 (Monday)

  • Registration (Class IX/XI): November 14, 2025 (Friday) to November 28, 2025 (Friday)

Important: For Classes X and XII, no corrections will be allowed after this verification window closes. This underscores the critical need for parents to be attentive during this period.

Essential Guidelines for Parents

To ensure a smooth process, CBSE has provided the following requests for parents:

  • Be attentive: Pay close attention when agreeing to the information for registration and LOC.

  • Correct personal data: Ensure that all personal details, including your ward's name, date of birth, and parents' names, are filled in correctly.

  • Use full names: Use the expanded form of all names instead of short names or initials.

  • Include surnames: If your child plans to go abroad, ensure their surname is included, as this is a requirement in many countries.

  • Verify with passport: If your child has a passport, cross-check the submitted details with their passport information.

  • Careful subject selection: Subjects must be filled in with utmost care, as no changes will be accepted after the verification schedule ends.

  • Parental responsibility: It is the parents' responsibility to ensure all submitted data is accurate.

By following these guidelines, parents can help the board conduct a fair and smooth examination process and save themselves and their children from future problems with official documents and question papers.
