KVS and NVS Recruitment Update: Important Corrections Announced

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) have recently released a corrigendum regarding their recruitment notification for various teaching and non-teaching posts. This update, dated November 21, 2025, is crucial for candidates aspiring to secure positions in these prestigious educational institutions under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. In this article, we will delve into the details of the corrigendum, highlighting the significant changes and their implications for prospective applicants.

Overview of the Recruitment Notification

The original recruitment notification, was aimed at filling various teaching and non-teaching positions within KVS and NVS. These institutions are renowned for their commitment to providing quality education and fostering holistic development among students. The recruitment process is highly competitive, and the recent corrigendum has introduced essential clarifications that candidates must be aware of.

Key Corrections in the Recruitment Notification

The corrigendum outlines several critical corrections to the original notification. Below are the key changes that candidates should note:

  • Eligibility Criteria for Teaching Posts: The requirement for candidates to qualify in the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) has been revised. Specifically, candidates must now qualify in Paper-II of the CTET conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the positions of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) in Hindi, English, Sanskrit, and Regional Languages.

  • Submission of ID Proof: Candidates are now required to submit a photocopy of the ID proof of the scribe, signed by both the candidate and the scribe, along with the proforma available in the detailed notification. This change is aimed at ensuring the authenticity of the examination process.

  • Assistant Engineer Positions: The pay scale for the Assistant Engineer positions has been clarified. The pay scale is set at Level 7 (Rs. 44900-142400) in the Pay Matrix, with an upper age limit not exceeding 35 years. Candidates must possess a degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or institute, along with two years of relevant experience in design and engineering.

  • Skill Test Requirements for Stenographers: The skill test requirements for Stenographer Grade I and II have been updated. For Stenographer Grade I, the shorthand test now requires dictation at 100 words per minute, while Grade II remains at 80 words per minute. Additionally, the typing speed requirements have been adjusted to 45 words per minute for English/Hindi typing.

Implications for Candidates

These corrections have significant implications for candidates preparing to apply for teaching and non-teaching positions in KVS and NVS. Understanding these changes is crucial for ensuring compliance with the updated requirements. Here are some key takeaways for applicants:

  • Preparation for CTET: Candidates must focus on qualifying the revised CTET Paper-II, as it is now a mandatory requirement for teaching positions. This necessitates a thorough understanding of the syllabus and effective preparation strategies.

  • Documentation: The requirement for ID proof submission emphasizes the importance of proper documentation. Candidates should ensure that they have all necessary documents ready and signed before submission to avoid any last-minute issues.

  • Experience Matters: For those applying for the Assistant Engineer positions, having the requisite experience is crucial. Candidates should ensure that they meet the experience criteria, as this will be a key factor in the selection process.

  • Skill Test Preparation: Stenographer candidates should practice their shorthand and typing skills to meet the updated requirements. Regular practice will enhance their chances of success in the skill tests.

The recent corrigendum issued by KVS and NVS serves as a vital update for candidates aspiring to join these esteemed institutions. By understanding the key changes and preparing accordingly, applicants can enhance their chances of success in the recruitment process. It is essential for candidates to stay informed about any further updates and ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria and documentation requirements. For more detailed information, candidates can refer to the official notification available on the CBSE, KVS, and NVS websites.
