Formulas

1

क्त्वा प्रत्यय: धातु + क्त्वा = क्त्वान्त शब्द

Used to form indeclinables (अव्यय) indicating an action completed before another. Example: गम् + क्त्वा = गत्वा (having gone).

ल्यप् प्रत्यय: उपसर्ग + धातु + ल्यप् = ल्यपन्त शब्द

Similar to क्त्वा but used with prefixes (उपसर्ग). Example: प्र + नम् + ल्यप् = प्रणम्य (having bowed).

तुमुन् प्रत्यय: धातु + तुमुन् = तुमुनन्त शब्द

Forms infinitives indicating purpose. Example: पठ् + तुमुन् = पठितुम् (to study).

क्त प्रत्यय: धातु + क्त = क्तान्त शब्द

Forms past passive participles. Example: कृ + क्त = कृत (done).

क्तवतु प्रत्यय: धातु + क्तवतु = क्तवतुन्त शब्द

Forms past active participles. Example: गम् + क्तवतु = गतवान् (one who has gone).

तव्यत् प्रत्यय: धातु + तव्यत् = तव्यान्त शब्द

Indicates obligation or necessity. Example: पठ् + तव्यत् = पठितव्यम् (must be studied).

अनीयर् प्रत्यय: धातु + अनीयर् = अनीयान्त शब्द

Similar to तव्यत्, indicates obligation. Example: पठ् + अनीयर् = पठनीयम् (should be studied).

यत् प्रत्यय: धातु + यत् = यतान्त शब्द

Forms potential passive participles. Example: दृश् + यत् = दृश्य (visible).

ण्यत् प्रत्यय: धातु + ण्यत् = ण्यतान्त शब्द
